I have just had left TKR by Sam Rajaratnam and without hesitation booked my right knee to be done in May! I cannot thank him enough for his attentiveness professionalism and care. His team is a credit to him and the Schoen clinic is outstanding. I truly believe I could not have been in better hands. This is a big operation and can seem a bit scary but everything was explained to me in detail and nothing was too much trouble. It is early days for me now in week 4 post op but my progress and recovery has been miraculous thanks to the care I have received. I thank Mr Rajaratnam sincerely for giving me back quality of life and I do feel very privileged to have had such a charming and talented surgeon perform my procedure. I cannot speak highly enough of him. Heartfelt thanks

Sam is a really great consultant who took the time to explain in detail at the first appointment what he proposed to do. He answered my questions and was very reassuring. I did not feel rushed during my appointment and left feeling very confident I was in safe hands. I saw him before my operation where he took the time to explain again the operation the outcome and detail my recovery time. He has a lovely personality and manner and this helped enormously the anxiety one feels when having surgery. Post appointments Sam again took the time to fully explain in an easy to understand way the outcome and future. I would have no hesitation at all at highly recommending Sam Rajaratnam.

2 years ago I had a TKR (Total knee replacement), the replacement knee was not shall we say done as it should have been. After I spent 15 months in discomfort and not being able to walk properly, a golfing friend who had, had similar problems recommended I make an appointment to see Mr Sam Rajaratnam at Schoen Clinic. At my first appointment I met Sam in his clinic, where he looked at the x-rays I had just had done and he showed me the number of problems my knee had. Sam explained everything and suggested what could be done for me. I was very impressed with Sam's enthusiasm discussing things with me, and his kindness and professionalism. With no pressure put upon me, I went away to think about my options. At my second appointment with Sam we agreed a way forward for me, which was a revision of the TKR, and a date was set for the surgery within the month. My surgery went without a hitch, and brilliant is the best word to use for my care, I could not fault it. Sam was so supportive and enthusiastic throughout the whole process. A couple of days after my surgery I was able to walk without crutches, and now 7 weeks on I am still progressing well.

From the moment I engaged the clinic and Sam I have had a wonderful and professional experience. I had torn cartilage in my knee and after the surgery I walked out of the clinic completely confident and stress free. All of the advice and talking through the procedures and recommendations were very simply explained and then followed through with calm and confidence. This then gave me the feeling and calm that I had made a good decision in having Sam be my surgeon. All of the advice I have been given post surgery has been great and simple and followed the pattern that was explained to me which has been great in knowing what to expect and how to manage my recovery. Dr Rajaratnam came across as a very experienced and knowledgeable doctor who explained all options very clearly and couldn't be more reassuring and supportive prior, during and post surgery. Couldn't recommend him enough!
